Krav Maga (in English, contact fighting) is considered to be the most field-tested hand-to-hand combat system in the world.

Krav Maga is an effective and easy-to-learn modern self-defence, use-of-force and hand-to-hand combat system based on tactical anticipation. In addition to the usual holds, chokes, punches and kicks in a violent situation, Krav Maga includes techniques against blades, blunt weapons and firearms. These also include defending on the ground and dealing with multiple attackers. The use of makeshift equipment in defence is also characteristic of the sport. The training also takes into account situations in different conditions and environments (outdoors, on slippery ground, in the dark, on stairs, etc.).

Principles of Krav Maga

  • Prevention / avoidance of threat
  • De-escalating threats verbally when possible
  • Utilizing natural human reflexes
  • Attacking vulnerable areas of the body
  • Moving from defence to attack as quickly as possible

  • Always take the shortest route to attack and counter-attack

  • Use of any available aids

  • There are no rules
